Joseph Preston Yadon, born December 17, 1756 in or near Scarva, County Down or Dublin, Ireland was the first Yadon to enter this country. He and his wife, Susannah Pennybaker had 12 children. (See my post under Joseph P. Yadon and Susannah Penneybaker). It is said in the book written by Swindell that virtually all Yadons in America descend from Joseph Preston Yadon. You probably are a descendant of one of his 12 children. I am descended from his second daughter, Mary Polly Yadon. Since you are still a Yadon, you are undoubtedly descended from one of his five sons:
Jacob Benjamin Yadon b.1787 in Martinsburg, Berkeley Co. VA
married Rachel Capps.
David Yadon b. 1789 in Martinsburg, Berkeley Co. VA
married Nancy Williams.
William Proctor Yadon b. Abt. 1792 in Martinsburg, Berkeley Co. VA or Washington Co., VA
married Mary Capps.
Joseph Preston Yadon II b. 1799 in Washington Co., VA
married Phoebe Cabbage.
Thomas Yadon b. 1801 in Washington Co., VA
Nancy Haynes.
