Thanks for the post Rachel. You are absolutely correct. My search of the Ellis Island records found the same result. The Yageski immigrants all came to the U.S. using the Polish / German spelling of the name, Jagielski. There are several listed in the Ellis Island records. Based on my research, the first Yagelski / Jagielski from my branch of the tree to come to the U.S. was Anthony Jagielski (and his wife Hele Lisicki). I am not certain what date they arrived, which has kept me from determining which A. Jagielski is my great, great grandfather.
