I would like to find descendants of Solomon Yahne.
He was born in Stark Co OH 25 Nov 1820. He moved to Huntington Co IN with his parents in the spring of 1840. He married Mary SICKAFOOSE, and is on the 1850 Census in Whitley Co IN, as that is where her parents were living.
Solomon moves around a lot. Since he is a blacksmith and a millwirght on the census, perhaps he is building mill in varous places in IL. In 1858 he purchased Kings Mill in Massac Co IL, and is found on the census there in 1860.
Solomon moves north of Massac Co to Pope Co IL, near Eddyville, and is listed as a farmer on the 1870 census.
In 1874 Solomon moved to Montgomery Co KS with most of his family, also taking with him his grandson, 6 year old Solomon Culbertson, son of Mary "Margaret" Yahne.
Solomon's son John Yahne and his daughter Mary Margaret remain in Saline & Pope Co IL. Margaret has other children by her third husband Joshua Browning, Josephus Browning and John Henry Browning. I would be very interested in particular to find descendants of Margaret's two Browning sons.
I have a copy of Solomon Yahne's family Bible, and several family pictures. I would be happy to trade information with any Yahne descendant.
