Freer of 22 My husband's great great grandfather was Jahnke when he arrived in this country. He settled in the Chicago area. We have documentation showing the time frame when Jahnke was changed to Yahnke and then to Yahnker. My father in law was an only son, as was his father. The Yahnker name has all but died out except there are now 4 grandsons to carry it on.
