My grandfather {grossfater] was John Georg Yakle,Born 1840 near Dornhan in the Black Forest area of Germany. He married Christina Heinzelmann of Reinerzau, Germany in 1867. They immigrated to Huron County, Michigan in 1883. I don't see a direct linkage withyour Yackles, but the name is not a common one. We have traced the family to about 1660 to a Georg Jacklin, the name having progressed from Jacklin to Jakle to Yackle. A German J is an English Y pronunciation.
We have a considerable history of the family and photos of some historic homes which I would happily share, if you are interested. Hopefully we can establish some linkage.
