Upon further inspection on the Social Security Death index, I find some other information. My brother lives in Vancouver , Washington. He found this piece of china signed by Esther Yakel in the Salvation Army warehouse store here. The SSDI lists two significant Yakel names that were locals. Thier names are the same names you indicated in your posting as follows :

Charles Yakel Born August 21, 1911 died May 20 1997 97236, Portland, Multnomah, Oregon.

Esther R. Yakel born Jan 7, 1917 died June 1, 2006 , Vancouver ,Clark , Washington.

Portland, Ore and Vancouver, Wa are right across the Columbia river from each other. These people might be the ones you are looking for. Also, Charles was born in Canada parents born Russia. Native tounge spoken upon immigration GERMAN. The 1930 census indicates that he was 18 in that year and the listing is Charley AG. Yakel living in Beaver Creek, Clackamas,Ore.Beaver Creek is still a rather rural area SE of Oregon City, Ore. His father was one Ludwig Yakel and Mother Willamina. The AG might indicated Augustus ??? Its a good bet. Looks like these folks lived in the Portland , Vancouver area all thier lives.
