Maria, Thank you so much for the post. I also received your private email. I believe you will be of great support to us with the Stefan Jalc family. One very important piece of information needed is the name of Stefan's first wife, mother of Janos V. Jalc. The following information I have for Stefan Jalc comes from the International Genealogical Index. This site is on www.familysearch.org and is created-maintained by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Stefan Yalch born: August 14, 1875 place of birth: Helcmanovce, Szepes Megye, Hungary married: Maria Hadvabuy place: Kojsov, Szepes Megy, Hungary For Maria Jalc I have little information. Several of us realize that borders have moved several times in the 19th and 20th century. I have a visted their gravesite and have a digital photo. Maria brought three children to American on the Kronprinz Wilheim sailing out of Bremen. Either the departure or arrival date is July 25, 1906. Here is how it is listed. Sir,Given Gender Age Birth place Last residence Jalcs, Maria F 31y Hungary, Slovak Golinczbanya, Hungary Jalcs, Janos M 04y Hungary, Slovak Golinczbanya, Hungary Jalcs, Andras M 02y Hungary, Slovak Golinczbanya, Hungary Jalcs, Maria F 08m Hungary, Slovak Golinczbanya, Hungary Janos (John Victor Yalch) had a different mother as mentioned above and in posts by Christine Torres. I have attempted to locate Ms Torres many times but I cannot find her. Ms Torres mentioned that John's wife Ms Maldanado was still living at her post date in 2000. In the US Maria and Stefan, "Baba and Popo" had 7 more children. This order of birth may be off a bit. I do have accurate birth and death dates on the following. Yalch, George Yalch, Micheal Yalch, Joseph (my grandfather) Yalch, Annie Yalch, Dora Yalch, Katie Yalch, Helen (only living Jalc) from Stefan and Maria The first post in this thread may find these very interesting and very possibly a connection. Of course it should be confirmed. I will send you the other document which I need help understanding the handwriting. Thanks alot! Robby Notify Administrator about this message?
