Hi,
My father was Arthur Sydney Yallop. He was born in 1892 in South Africa and died in 1938. His father was Jack Yallop who came to South Africa from England married a 'Miss King' and had a flourishing trade in timber, buying up railway sleepers at a time when rail was introduced in South Africa. He also had a franchise in cement.

Arthur Sydney had two brothers who both died when they were young. One was Roy. The other is unknown to me.

Jack Yallop held a high position in the Masonic Lodge. He was the mayor of Sea Point and opened the railway line from Monument Station to Sea Point.

I'd be interested to get as much information as possible. Hope this has been of use to you.

Kind Regards
Gaynor Pulker (nee Yallop)
