I am looking for information on Anna Kathryn Yancy and William H. Yancy. Anna delivered a baby girl in Jackson, Michigan on Sept 6, 1946 at Jackson Osteopathic Hospital. The baby's name was Loetta Marie Yancy. After birth, the baby girl was given up for adoption. That baby girl was adopted by Howard Wayne Patton and Alma Patton of Jackson, Michigan.
As the story goes, William H. Yancy was overseas in the army and was flown in to sign over all rights to the baby (he was not the father.) Anna delivered the baby girl in Jackson whilst staying with the delivery doctors family (Dr. Robert Patton.) Anna had another daughter with her at the time, but I am not sure of the age or name. Also, there is some evidence that the Yancy family had lived in the Lousiville, Ky area. However, I am not sure of the validity.
I am the son of Loetta (now Susan) and would very much like to learn more about my heritage and family background. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
