Dear Carlos: I read with interest your posting regards Mr. Rosendo Enrique Yanez. I am married to Cathryn Yanez, whose father Hector Ysidoro Yanez was born to a Roberto Yanez who came from the Chihuahua area. I met earlier this year with Hector's Sister, Caratina [Yanez} Gaspar, who is still living in Oregon, and she gave me the following written notes that she had kept regarding her family, I quote: "Roberto Benjamin Yanez, date of birth 1892, date of death 11-21-1930, Married 10-3-1923 to Angelina Armendariz, born 5-15-1896, baptized 8-22-1897, died 10-22-1956. Although Roberto and Angelina's exact place of birth is unknown, we know Roberto's Mother lived in Chihuahua until her death in early 1940's [1941-1943]. She was called Gonasalita Yanez. There were two other sons, names I can't remember also lived in Chihuahua and El Paso. Their sons, [Roberto's nephews of the other brothers whose names I can't remember] one named Carlos and one named Robert came to see us during the War, they were in the service [Army]. Roberto and Angelina had three children, Hector Ysidoro [my Father-In-Law], Caratina [my Wife's Aunt], and Roberto Juan, who died 3-16-1931 at age 6. Angelina's Father was Faustino Armendariz, Born Santa Cruz de Rosales, Chihuahua, Mexico on 3-15-1858. He married Caratina Ortiz de Armendariz, and they had five children, Richard [10-6-1886], Gustavo [2-15-1889], Faustino [6-12-1892], Maria [5-24-1894, and Angelina [5-15-1896], who was born in El Paso. Faustino and Caratina arrived at El Paso, Texac in a row boat on or about 12-15-1884 [correct date is 1894] with wife and 4 choldren. Little is known of Caratina Armendariz other than she died in 1896 helping feed the poor along the river where people were dying of German Measles. Faustino Armendariz subsequent to Caratina's death married Ellena Baviera, born in Rio Florida, Mexico, and they had six children; Alfredo [6-12-1901], Hortencia [6-11-1903], Alberto [9-16-1907], Armando [12-21-1909], and Eduardo, date unknown [he was the youngest]." It would be interesting to share information with you, it could be we are relations, and that some missing links in our family's heritage could be filled in. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely yours, Douglas A. Stewart Notify Administrator about this message?
