Johnny Yankee 1898 - 1928

I am looking for any information on Johnny Yankee born about 1898, possibly in Corinth, Mississippi. He married Sula McGowin Eastep in 1925. Johnny died in 1927 or 1928 as a result of an accidental gunshot wound. He is buried in Tyronza Cemetery in Poinsett County, Arkansas in an unmarked grave. Johnny had a brother (name unknown) who attended his funeral and then returned to service in the military. The family had no further contact with the brother after the funeral.

I have searched 1900, 1910 and 1920 census with no results. I also searched the WWI draft cards and the Arkansas death index with no luck.

Thank you,
