Let me see if I can remember all of this correctly. My grandfather was Lee Payton Yarber, my father was George Albert Yarber. My grandfather was first married to Laura Swopes of Perryville AR. They had George and Dovie (they called her Pat). Later Laura and Lee divorced. Lee later married a woman named May (or Mae). They had Alene, Clifford, James, Hazel, Pauline. They lived in Kennett, Missouri for a while, then they moved to California. Lee passed away in 1963. Dovie later married a man with the last name of Williams. She drowned in Lake Kerr near Ocala Florida (in 1959 I think). She's buried in Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Jacksonville. Dovie had two boys by the name of Steve and Tommy Hendrix. My dad (George Albert) and my grandmother's new husband named Percy Oliver didn't get along well at all. So a long time (maybe 15-20 years) went by before my dad got back in touch with his mother Laura. This was after Percy had passed away. In was the
spring of 1976. I happened to be with him. This is when he and I went up to Nogo (Lost Corners). So the Alene you mentioned is my aunt. I think she lives in Indiana now near her daughter Gail. Clifford lives in Jonesboro AR, Hazel lives in Oklahoma City, James (we called him uncle Jimmy) died when the terrorist drove that truck bomb into the
Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon back in 1983. Pauline died about 3 or four years ago. Lee's first wife Laura died in Perryville 9/11/03, she was 95. My dad did go back in the late seventies to take care of his mother Laura. But in the mid 90's when his health was bad, she had him put her in a nursing home. My dad (George) passed away in November
2001. I hope I remembered everything correctly. Do you know what country the Yarber's came from?
