Sally Yarboro - Cleveland Co. NC 1800-87

Looking for information on this family that appeared in the 1850 Cleveland Co., NC federal census. Sally (Sarah)50,is listed as the head of the family with sons John 21, James 19, Edward 16, Lewis 11, and daughter Francis 13. I cannot find any information about Sally's husband as he is not listed in this or any subsequent census. I have searched the marriage records for that time but have come up empty. There were several other Yarbrough Yarbro Yarboro Yarborough families in the Cleveland County area but I'm not sure of any connection. Any help?

Sally shows up in the 1860 and 1870 Cleveland census in the household of her son Lewis. She dies in 1887 and is buried in the cemetery at Beaverdam Baptist Church in the western part of Cleveland County. At some point Lewis moves to Polk County, NC with his wife Rhoda Cowart where he dies in 1909 and is buried in the cemetery at Columbus Baptist Church. Lewis served with the Cleveland Regulators (28th NC Co H) in the WBTS. I believe his brother John or James may have been a baptist preacher in the Rutherford County area during the latter part of the century.

Any information that would shed more light on the origins of this family would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike
