Hi Daisy, haven't heard from you in a while. Wheat Yarbro lived just down the road from my grandparents, Grover Clyde and Eva Lee Bailey Yarbro. His kids by his first wife were Guy, Pearl, Lloyd, Hazel, Zinna. His first wife died when Lloyd was six months old. My mom's family, the Magers', took all the kids to raise except Lloyd. Oscar and Gardner Yarbro took him to raise alongside my grandfather, Grover Clyde. My grandparents on the other side, Josephine Call Leasure Magers and Bud took Zinna. Anderson and Pearl Magers (Bud's daddy and mom) took Hazel, Bud's brother, Leonard Magers and Olive took Pearl and Guy just roamed around from family to family, never really having a home.
Wheat was scared that they would bring his kids home so he called the Nashville Orphans Home to come and get them all. My Granny Josephine said it was like a funeral when they had to go.
My mom thinks they have all died but Hazel and Zinna lived in Nashville TN. Lloyd died of cancer two years ago.
Guy died the year before Lloyd.
After all this happened, he married Kate Grindstaff from Parsons TN. Not sure if they had any children.
Here's a funny story about Wheat. He got drunk one night and went to my Grandmother's grocery store to sleep it off. Two of his brothers went to the store and got him up, whipped him with switches all the way home, which was about a half a mile.
