James Alfred Yarnell was born 5-28-1841, son of Thomas Yarnall and Dorcas Tobitha (Shaw) (Hildreth). He was their second child. On 11-12-1865 James Alfred Yarnell wed Rebecca Samantha Scott (b. 1846). They had nine children:
1. Frisbee A. b. 8-27-1865 d. 9-16-1945
2. Louise
3. Dolly b. 1872 d. 1955
4. Angelo
5. Flora b. 1876 d. 10-4-1941
6. Belva b. 1879 d. 1960
7. Alfred b. 7-1881 d. 12-16-1940
8. Eugene H
9. Byrdie

Eugene and Byrdie were twins.

Belva wed a man by the name of Severance in Boston, Mass. She was a musician.

Flora, actually Florence Rebecca Yarnell, graduated from Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah. She taught school in Idaho and Colorado and Calif. She later ran a dairy ranch in the Imperial Valley.
