James POST visited at Davis City over Sunday.

Mr. PARKER went to Leon Friday on business.

James DRAPER was in town Friday buying horses.

Mrs. Minnie WICKES returned home Monday from California.

Miss VANDERPOOL of Leon was in town Thursday and Friday.

Miss Carlile JARVIS arrived Monday to visit relatives in Lamoni.

Miss Mattie IVY of Mt. Ayr, Iowa is staying at H. H. WHITE's.

J. D. ENNIS and wife went to Leon on business and for a visit.

J. W. SMITH returned home Friday from his trip with horses.

Mrs. Ida YARRINGTON visited relatives near Davis City last week.

James GILREATH of Grand River, Iowa, was in town Thursday last.

C. H. BRUNS of Ottumwa, Iowa, was in town Thursday and Friday.

Mr. SPAFFORD, the hotel man of Grant City, Missouri, was a guest at the BARR hotel Saturday.

Elder F. M. WELD was in Des Moines, last week on business. He returned home Monday.

Elder Evan MORGAN went to Davis City Saturday; from there he returned to his home at Lucas, Iowa, on Monday.

E. P. HAWLEY, from Sheridan, Missouri, came in by team Thursday to his recently purchased farm near Lamoni.

A. S. PARKER and wife and Verre REESE came over from Pleasanton Friday. Mr. and Mrs. PARKER returned home Saturday.

The ladies of Memphis, Tennessee, got out a fine issue of the "Memphis Commercial Appeal", February 14, for charitable purposes.

The public school building at Lamont, Iowa, burned last week. Damage $6,000. This is the town that has given Lamoni so much trouble about mail and express matter.

The dwelling on the old NEWMAN place, south of Leon was destroyed by fire Sunday morning. Nearly all the household goods were saved. The place was under the control of Sigler & McDonough and was occupied by Harrison FRAZIER. - Leon
