You probably already know that Arabella Yarrington was married first to Collis Huntington and then to his nephew Henry Huntington and was the driving force in founding the HUNTINGTON Library and Museum in San Marino Ca. See Western Magazine Dec 1978, Vol. 70, No. 12, pp 44-47.. SHE MADE A GREAT EFFORT TO HIDE HER BACKGROUND, DESTROYING ALL HER PRIVATE PAPERS BEFORE HER DEATH.
The big question is: who was the original Yarrington immigrant. George Yarington in 1619 apparently returned to England, Dorothy, a transported prisoner in 1678 was a spinster, or John Yarranton, endentured to Va.to a Mister French in 1678. The first Yarrington in New England was Peter in 1692, but we cannot find any record of where he came from. William, the Revolutionary Officer was his grandson, ( Peter,Peter, Wm.)
