The first yarrington in my tree is Peter in Beverly, Mass. 1692
There is no record of any prior to him in New England and his origin is unknown. Much false data floats around saying he came from a William from Wales or Holland, all unproven or disproved. Wards notes ( all yarringtons recorded in any form in UK from 1500-1800. Most from Astley in Worst. ( about 10 miles from Welsh border) but none from Wales. The first Yarrington immigrants were those I noted. Perhaps Peter came from John in Va. Perhaps he came from Holland a product of Yarringtons who may have moved there in Cromwell's time. No research on that yet. Clearly the Texas branch comes from Va. branch and the midwest branch from New England branch. But, where did Peter come from? The name probably comes from Yarhampton-Yarranton-Yarrington-Yarington.
