Clearly you are beyond my depth of information. Can you tell me when the first Y came to Va. from Mass. or NY?

My mother has some information in her possession and when I visit her Thanksgiving I will look over what she has. I know that she has Bible notations in William Yarringtons hand writing that were dated from his marriage. In mid 18th century.

I do know that my connection to this family came thru my great grand mother Sarah Y. whon came to Texas from N.Y. with her mother and other sisters and at least one brother in 1861 (after the beginning of the war). They had Southern leanings as Uncle Hays served in the CSA. Sarah died in 1876 when my grand mother was 5 years of age. In the years that followed she became acquainted with Uncel Hays and she kept contact with aunts and cousins for many years. She died in 1949. We have very little information about the Y. family. It was thru luck more than anything else that I found the Coram web sight.

So any information you can let me have about the family I will very much appreciate. JHB
