My great great Grandfather was Louis G Yaus b.21 Oct 1832 in Germany (obit says Wittenburg, and a census mentions Balvaria). He came to the USA in 1847. There is a story in the family that he came with a brother. Also the family has a story that prior to coming to the USA the name was spelled Yause and some of their ancestors were French as well as German.

Louis was known to be in Ohio at the start of the Civil War and served in the 1St Ohio Cavalry. He married Anna "Annie" Bryan 28 Oct 1868 in Tuscarwas County Ohio.
Annie died 16 July 1883 in Ohio.

Their children, who said they were born and raised until 1884 in the Tunnel Mine/Sandyville Ohio area were:

Mary Katherine "Katie: b 2 Nov 1869
George Andrew b 2 June 1871
Jennie Christine b 21 Aug 1873
Addie Ann b 8 Sept 1874
Alfred Uriah Eugene "Eugene" b 20 Jan 1877

Louis took the children to Webster City, Hamilton county Iowa in 1884.

I am looking for any information pertaining to these individuals.
Katie-was my Great Grandmother
I do know that Addie died 21 Jan 1890 and also know a little information on George and Jennie.

I have not had any luck finding a brother for Louis or his parents etc. and have not been able to locate any of Anna's family either.

Any help would be appreciated.
