Kimberly,
My research seems to indicate that the Yaw family originated in England in the Devon and Somerset areas. They seem to first show up in America in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and then moved westward. I understand that the state with the most Yaws now is Idaho. There are a number of good web sites for genealogy (http://www.familysearch.org - Church of the Later Day Saints and http://www.usgenweb.org - The US GenWeb Project) just to list a couple. Let me know if I can be of any help in the future. Happy hunting.
Ed
