Belinda: I don't know if my grandfather had a brother or not. I only know that he had a sister, as stated by my grandmother's living sister. I know he met my grandmother in Hayward, CA around later 1943 to early 1944; seeing that my father was born Sept. 12, 1944. Upon my father's conception, they returned to Decatur, Indiana and lived here for several years. I obtained their marriage certificate in Decatur (Adams Co.). It states he was a laborer (farmer/construction?). It also states that his father's name was Manuel Ybarra (same as my dad) and his mother's name was Nestora Yucubcio. They eventually moved to Chicago, IL. My grandmother died in 1956 and my grandfather remained alive thereafter. Details are sketchy at this point. I was told he was murdered while in Chicago. But speculate, that it may not have happened, also. Last I heard; my grandfather's family lived in/around Mesa, AZ. I'm open to any info you may have; as long as it fits what I'm explaining. IF, he was still alive after my grandmother's death - it certainly will become more interesting to me! I can be reached directly at (dnyb1969@msn.com). Thank you for your posting!
