No connection to Yeager genealogy but seeking information re Maggie (possibly Margaret) Yeager who was a very early school teacher 11/31/1903 in a rural location known as Rainetown which was deep within the woods where a village grew up around a sawmill.I have not been able to find anything more about her. In the same area is a schoolhouse which is now on the historical list and is being "taken back to it's original status." There will be a museum in the upper level where hopefully photos and info re former school teachers of the school and nearby rural area schools will be displayed and booklets re the history will be available. It would be great to have background information and copies of photos of Margaret Yeager to put along with the other information of former teachers in the museum for display. Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated. All fees for postage and copies will be reimbursed. On a list of births in Rainetown is the name Yeager, M.P (female) on 8/28/1895 to Rachale and William Yeager. The year of her birth would not permit her to be a teacher in 1902. It's possible Mrs. William Yeager might have been referred to as Maggie Yeager and she could have been the teacher. There was a Mr. Yeager, probably William, who was killed while riding through the woods on one of those engines used to transport timber from the woods...and there was a young boy of the Yeager family who drowned not long after the Mr. Yeager was killed...possibly all in the same family. The Mr. Yeager who was killed was apparently originally form Center County PA....I belive his body was taken back there for interment. Notify Administrator about this message?
