trying to find out about Yearouts in tenn.
hi all,
i'm writing on behalf of my boyfriend. his name is Tommy Yearout III and we live in memphis, tn.he recently became interested in knowing more about his geneology and the history of his surname.there are few people in his family who know much about the family history; his great-aunt who raised him died when he was a teenager.
he doesn't know his great-grandparents names yet, but he just wants some general info about the family... i found out about the original last name "Jahraus" and that it originated in Prussia, etc.if anyone has any further info about the history of Prussia and the Jahraus name, we'd love to see it..
Also: does anyone know where or how to find a copy of the book, "200 Years of Yearout in America"?Tommy told me that when he was really young, his great-aunt gave him a book about his family, but he doesn't have it anymore.During my short research i found out the title, year and publisher, but is this book even in print?
I would appreciate hearing back from anyone who wants to share info... and so would tommy.his father and grandfather, Tommy Lee Yearout Jr. and Sr., both live in the Memphis area as well.
thanks! -rebekah
