There was a William Stinnett who died in Texas, but it was not the William who married Harriett Yearout.

William & wife Harriet were in KY 1870 with Harriett's brother John Joseph.

William (my great great Grandfather, did return after 1880 as he took maintenance on the last three of his daughter's illegitimate children, Harriett (Ratledge/Rutledge) Lillian (Romines) Robert Franklin (my grandfather)

I spent over 6 years tracking, made many trips to TN from here in NC before I was able to link my Yearout line at all. Have been able to locate the father's names of all the 7 children of Edna Yearout as well as meeting many many cousins, whom I never knew existed. According to the descendants of Samuel Stinnett, Samuel was the brother of William, and also according to another much older cousin who says she remembers the children well. They "could" have had different mothers, I have had people tell me that there were two mothers at least of the Stinnett clan which consisted of:

William, Samuel, Temperance, Rebecca, (could be more) but have only one death record which states the mother of Temperance as Margaret James, father as William Stinnett.

I have the stinnett line proven with many records from John 1796 down to present and loads of stuff on Yearout from my constant digging. I am hoping to locate living kin of two remaining brothers of my grandpa, Lemuel Yearout born 1865 and James Calvin Stinnett.
I think I am the only one who has actively researched out this "renegade" Yearout line which was covered over and hid for over 50 years.
