BTW: I assume my great great grandmother died in Kentucky and that was perhaps the reason William returned to Tennessee. I do know that he returned as one of the aunts remembered him and he was listed as taking maintenance of the 3 younger children.
I have yet to locate Harriett Yearout Stinnett's gravesite or the gravesite of William either. I am guessing William to be buried in Cedar Point cemetery, Maryville, TN. If I knew where I would definitly mark the graves.
Misinformation was sent intentionally to Glenn Alvin Yearout when he wrote his book on the Yearouts. One of the children did not want his dad listed as illigitimate and in that day and time, he probably only did what a lot of people would have done. Glenn Alvin's book lists my grandpa and all of his siblings as yearouts when in reality most of them never carried the Yearout surname. One carried Yearout exclusivly, another one changed his name legally after marriage and several children from Stinnett to Yearout, one was a yearout in the census, & on her marriage license but died with the maiden name Stinnett on her death certificate. All of the children list the same mother, Edna on their death records, though often with made up "husbands".
Plus the marriages of two of the sunts had name changes, one married a Charlie Ratledge, but the family uses Rutledge, another married Horace Willocks, but the family uses Willix............confusing as heck but it did all come together after a few years.
