For anyone who is interested in coming to the Yearwood Family Reunion this year in Toccoa, GA on Sunday, August 13, 2000. It will be held at:
Shiloh Fire Department
Prathers Bridge Road
Shiloh Fire Department is just a few miles south of "Yearwood Valley" and Old Toccoa Baptist Church where the progenitors of the Georgia Yearwoods, Robert & his son Andrew, settled in 1802-1805. I would encourage anyone who can make the trip to do so. The mountains and Lake Hartwell are nearby, so there is plenty to do if you decide to make it a weekend trip. Also nearby is Traveler's Rest, an Antebellum Stagecoach Inn that served as the center of the Tugaloo Crossroads community for most of the early 1800s. Very interesting to see how our ancestors lived in that area back then.
We will eat at 1:00pm. Please bring your favorite covered dish to share. Please e-mail me for more information or directions.
