It's complicated. Simply put, YOUR William Riley is generation #5 on the family tree I have put together, i.e., Thomas 4, Thomas 3, William 2 and Thomas 1. My William R. is generation #6, i.e., Robert A. 5, Frederick 4, William 3, William 2, and Thomas 1. Generations 1 & 2 are the same for both of us. Far enough back to probably not mean anything. If you would send me your e-mail address I will forward my file to you. It may not be totally accurate, some facts and some best guesses, but makes interesting reading.
