My gg-grandfather was Elijah Yearwood, born about 1807 in North Carolina. He was the son of William Yearwood (who died in Sweetwater, TN, in 1867) and his first wife, assumed to be Mary "Polly" Setzer. Elijah married Prudence Morrow about 1826 and lived in Monroe County, TN, prior to moving to Johnson County, AR.

In the 1860 census I finally found him listed as Earwood (Earnwood in the Index)in Johnson County,AR. I was very happy with that discovery, as I had struggled considerably with that time period.

This is my first post in this forum. I look forward to responses from kin.

Bill Hunt
