Hi! Carl and I have only been into genealogy a little over a year and in looking for ancestors we have found FRIENDS! We have one regret, and that is that we didn't start this while Carl's dad, Buck Ryder, was still living. He would have eaten it up. All of his siblings have passed on so we only have little things that cousins sometimes remember their folks talking about.
Carl and I live at Vance, Alabama, the home of Mercedes-Benz, and near Tuscaloosa, the home of the University of Alabama. All of our children are grown but the youngest left the nest long enough to do 4 years in the Navy, came home, fluffed up his nest and enjoys aggravating his mother! We have two lovely grandchildren, Carlie, age 12, and Ashley age 3 1/2.
My brother got into genealogy first and has researched our family extensively and is fixing to publish a book on the Stricklands from southeast Georgia. His advice and interest is what spurred us to start this ancestry search and I have concentrated on Carl's family.
Y'all come!
Carolyn and Carl
