Hello June,
My maiden name was Yeldon. My Yeldon's appear in Mile End and Southwark, London, around the 1840's. I suspect there may be a link to the Isle of Wight. I don't seem to have a Frederick in my line (though have seen references to a Frederick in Sydney in the latter 1800's). As Yeldon is uncommon somewhere there must be a connection so I keep plodding on in the hope that this proves to be.
I have a James Thorogood Yeldon b.1837, married 1857 to Elizabeth Spurgeon, who then disappear completely, maybe to New Zealand?
Sorry I'm not much help.
Regards, Gail
