Why in the world would anyone want to tease you for your last name? The Yerger family (originally Jerger and Joerger, etc.) is a prosperous German familythat emigrated to Pennsylvania in approximately 1730/1740. They were and are extremely productive and prosperous farmers in that area and also in Tennessee and Mississippi. My grandmother was a Yerger. The Yergers have spread out throughout the entire country. One I know is a professor (retired) at Florida State University.
