I have only a little information about Orvill e Yerger. He was the second youngest son of Edwin Michael and Margaret Shall Yerger. Orville was probably born in the early 1820s in Lebanon, TN. He practiced law in Mississippi for several years beginning about 1845 and then returned to Tennessee. In Mississippi he was known as Norval Yerger.

Edwin Michael Yerger is the son of George Yerger and Gertrude Adams. Edwin Michael was born in Reading, PA about 1780. He is the founder of the "southern" branch of the Yerger family. He moved to Tennessee between 1813 and 1815 (based on the location of the births of his sixth and seventh child). Edwin and Margaret had 11 children, 10 sons and one daughter. Many of the sons were prominent lawyers or judges in Tennessee and Mississippi.

Orville's younger brother Alex (1825-1888)is my great-great grandfather. I have other information the southern branch of the Yerger name that I can send in a GEDCOM file.

I would also be interested in receiving whatever information you might have on the Yerger family.
