HISTORY of the JUENGST (YINGST) FAMILY
The ancestryJohann Henrich JUENGST (John Henry YINGST) has been traced back to Henne der JUNGESTE, b. 24 December 1440, Niedernetphen, Westfalen, Preussen, Germany. John Henry came to Pennsylvania in 1766 and settled near Annville in Lancaster Co. (now Lebanon).Henne was the son of one BERCHMAN. Family data and relationships for JUENGST descendants from Henne and BERCHMAN are set out in "Geschichte der Familie JÜNGST (History of the Family JÜNGST)", 1993, by Frau v. CHAMISSO.
Frau v. CHAMISSO'S uncle, Herman JUENGST (1880-1958) began researching the family early in his life. She obtained her uncle's handwritten material and transcribed it to typescript. She built on that research using church records, public records and published literature to produce the book. A Family Chart (Familienmitglied) is presented for each father by generation, beginning with Henne (Generation 1). The charts list wives and both male and female children and contain location (abbreviated place names) for male progenitors and birth, marriage, and death data for each person, where available.
I have scanned Family Charts for each Principal Family Member in my direct line from Henne der JUNGESTE down thru Johann Henrich JUENGST (Generation 10), with permission from Frau v. CHAMISSO. In addition, I have presented "NOTES from TEXT" for each of the charts containing information generally not shown in the charts that I have gleaned from the German text.
The charts may be viewed at "Family Name Charts from GESCHICHTE der FAMILIE JÜNGST"
