TOPEKA, Ind. - Elva Yoder, 107, died Tuesday at LaGrange Community Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 4, 1898, in LaGrange County, to Daniel V. and Fannie (Yoder) Yoder.
He married Nellie Ruth (Hostetler) on Dec. 24, 1922, in Emma.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of Topeka Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his sons, Dwight Yoder, Vienna, Va., Maurice Yoder, Topeka, James Yoder, Newton. Kan., and Gary Yoder, Rochester; a daughter, Joan Hughes, Hamilton; a brother, Harley Yoder, LaGrange County; and a sister, Violetta Mishler, also from LaGrange County; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son, William Ernest Yoder, in 1946; two brothers, Albert and Leo; and two sisters, Mable and Birdina.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Topeka Mennonite Church.
The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. John Hockman officiating.
Burial will take place at Eden Cemetery, Topeka.
Memorials may be sent to Topeka Mennonite Church.
