Christ T. Yoder, Amboy, Indiana

I have a German book which a friend gave me. He got it in a lot of books he bought at an auction.

Cover page in old German:

Ausbund Das ist: Christliche Lieder (and a lot more writing many characters I don't recognize)

and looks like it was printed in "Lancaster" with a date of 1856

I don't speak German so I'm not sure what the book is but inside the front cover is written in pencil,

"Christ T. Yoder, Amboy, Ind."

There is quite a bit of other very old writing in ink that has faded to a deep brown color which is all in German and in 2 places is the date 1859. The 2nd is Handwritten "Henry Erb. 1859) Christ's Signature looks a lot more modern.

The next page is handwritten but very nicely in ink. Looks like it says:

"Diekesliederbuck debort: Heinrick Erb, von Waterloo County, Ontario Canada. Lagrange Co. Ind."
and what looks like "d.6. Decbr."
Then Christ wrote his name again in Pencil.

Will gladly scan the writing if anyone wants to try and decipher the handwriting.

Would like to find out more about Christ T. Yoder from Amboy and Henry Erb, and will gladly return the book to any descendant.
