My maternal grandmother was named Ellen America Yohe. She
reportedly had a step-sister, May Yohe. May was reportedly was a singer and touted as the toast of Europe in newspaper stories. She married Lord Hope - who had inherited the Hope Diamond. She ran away to America, marrying an American Army Captain and settled in (California?) on a chicken ranch. For pure curiosity, I would love to research her story more fully. I recently bought a book on the Hope Diamond which may give some more clues on her life. If any of this is interesting to you, I would love to hear from you.
