I have been searching for years, not as hard as many of you guys have, on the origins of Yoh/Yohe. I have read many explanations on here as well as other forums for the origin of Yoh/Yohe. So what is it? German? French? Hungarian? Von joh? Joh? or Johe? Has anybody dug up anything new? I got to talk to my grandmother before she passed, I have not talked to her in almost 25 or so years, because my father side of the family was on the other coast when I lived in CA. Mom, father did get along so you can fill in the blanks. I finally got to ask her what the Yoh name originated from. She said it is English. I kind find it hard to believe, not finding many yoh/yohe names in England. I thought she maybe said that because she is from England. Anyhoo, my grandparents are Alma yoh/Kroos and Joshua Yoh. My father, their son Greggory Yoh Sr. Daughters Christine Yoh and penny Yoh. That is all I know, if I am related to any of you, would love to hear from ya. Thanks in advance.
