Hi, Ruth. I am a Zabcik descendant. My daughter and I have done extensive research on the Zabciks in Texas and we're all descended from Jan Zabcik and Anna Hruska, the original immigrants to Texas from Ratibor, Moravia. They had two daughters who immigrated with them: Johanna (married Dr. Alfred Lugo)and Katherina (married Franz Kruse). Jan's single brother, Martin, and a single sister, Anna, also immigrated with them. Martin married Anna Repka and later Frances Sonntag Coufal. We've not done any research on the single daughter, Anna.

Jan and Anna (Hruska) Zabcik had five more children after they arrived in Texas: Jan (married his first cousin Frantiska(Florence)Zabcik, this is my line; Anna (married John Kadlecek); Marie (married Martin Stepan); Martin(married Mary Macek); Joseph outlived three wives: (Anna Mikeska, Kristina Mikeska, Veronica Bubela).

The original Jan is buried in the Wesley Brethren Cemetery out of Brenham. His wife, Anna Hruska Zabcik, is buried in the Ocker Cemetery next to her daughter-in-law Anna Mikeska Zabcik. Many of the Zabcik clan are buried at Ocker. The brother Martin Zabcik and his wife Frances Coufal Zabcik are buried at Seaton.

Would love to hear from you and get your information.
