I have only now come back to this site and found your message.
My grand aunt was Margaretta Katherine Lysette Zabel b. c1867 and she married Karl Rudolph Wirth in 1889 had two sons Karl & Heinrich.I do not know of any more children but there may well have been.
My grandfather was Henry Gustave Zabel (later changing his name to Wallace). Born Gahler(?)1864, died Essex 1945.
His parents were Henry Gustave Zabel b.Hardrushben(?) c.1836- 1873 and Eliza ????? b.Gahler c1837 - ???.
If there is a connection here I would be very pleased to learn more.
