If you are referring to Charles Zabel who was also called "Pard," then he was my great-grandfather. He married Lillian Madison in South Dakota and had four children, my grandfather and three sisters. I know very little of the sisters, except for Nellie Zabel Wilhite, but my grandfather was also Charles, but always called Carl. Two of my grandfather's sisters married and lived in Wisconsin.

I know that Pard's family was from the Alsace-Lorraine area and first settled in
Sheboygan. Pard moved back to Sheboygan and served in the Postal Service until he retired, five years before his death in 1935.

Is this the Long-haired Charley you're asking about?
