Sarah Agnes Carnahan, daughter of David and Melissa Carnahan, was born in Mercer County, Ill., Feb. 11, 1848 and departed this life, April 28, 1934, at the age of 80 years 2 months and 15 days.

While yet a young woman, she united with the church and lived a faithful Christian life until called to the life beyond.

She moved with her parents to a farm near Rock Island, Ill., where she met and wed Jesse Zabriskie soon after the Civil War.

To this union were born ten children, two of whom died in infancy and Mrs. Zilphi Zimmerman passed away in 1927.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lucy Miller of Larned and seven children, Mrs. Gertrude Bender of Parsons, Kansas, Mrs. Mary Marrs of Harveyville, Kansas, Mrs. Elma Duling of Binger, Okla., Zeno Zabriskie of North Bend, Okla., Walter Zabriskie of Pagosa Junction, Colo., Mrs. Clara Guest of McLouth, Kansas and Mrs. Letitia Slawson of Lebo, Kansas. All living children (7), are present.

She also leaves thirty-two granchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.

She was of a quiet, uncomplaining disposition, enduring all the hardships of a pioneer preacher's family, assisting her husband in the work of the church during his thirty-three years in the ministry.

In 1902, she returned with her husband to McLouth and has made this her home.

She has spent her declining years with her daughter, Clara Guest of McLouth, Kansas.

Rev. J. H. Zabriskie, her husband, preceded her sixteen years prior to her passing to her reward.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 1, at the M. E. Church by the pastor Rev. Mr. Henson. Burial was in McLouth cemetery.

CARD OF THANKS

We wish to extend out thanks to our many friends who so kindly expressed their sympathy with flowers and other kindnesses during the sickness and laying away of our mother.
