hello again...I talked to my dad who is now 75 years old and gives sketchy,if not wrong information but here goes.

my grandfather gustaf zacharias married ena robson about 1930. Sometime afer they where married and they had children thier name was changed to harris so my grandfather became grant harris..
which is my maiden name. My fathers birth cert. has the name zacharias on it.The whole name change thing has been a hush hush thing in our family and only recently did we find out about the name from my dads birth cert. He has some ridiculous story about us really being Scottish, names being changed because of some spy thing during the 1 st world war, my grandfather going to enlist in the 2nd world war, someone high up recognizing the name zacharias and saying for his safety it had to be change..My aunt at a young age went from vancouver b.c. to live with annie roast and her husband in manitoba, where she married and had 4 children and lives there to this day.
Here are some hopefully true facts

name gustaf zacharias...changed to grant harris I would guess maybe around late 1930's

grandfathers birth date aug 7 1898
grandmothers birth date aug 20 1900ish
married 1930ish
grandfather died 1976
grandmother died 1984
annie roast nee (zacharias) died 1970ish
my great grandfather (gustaf's father) was a carriage maker for the arch duke ferdinand...speculation is that my great grandfather had a hand in the assasination of the arch duke and died for it,his wife and children fled for their lives to canada....who know's if this part is true
my grandfather did enlist and serve in the 2nd world war but this is also hush hush..
my grandfather and his wife lived in Vancouver b.c. Canada

I would love to know more about my family if you have more information,I will try to find out more from my dad. I would like to exchange email address

married ena robson around the same time as name change
