Hi Deb
Thanks for responding to me. I'm more confused than ever but I guess that's to be expected when tracing the family geneology! I noticed that you spelled the last name as "Greising" and on the message posted it's spelled "Griesing" - the way I spell my maiden name. Is "Greising" on any papers that you have?

Also, if Elizabeth's father is John/Johannes then that's my great grandfather although on the 1870 census taken in Hazleton, PA, John's wife's name was Gertrude. Do you know whether John and Dorothea were born in Cassel, Hesse, Germany?

If Elizabeth is my great aunt, I'm sure somewhere along the line, I'll come across the name of George Zacher. From going over some census taken back at that timeframe, I've noticed that a lot of people went by nicknames and not their given names! I'll gather as much information as I can on George Zacher and send you an email.

Happy hunting! Joyce
