Hi Susan;
My wife is a Zacher. Her parents came from Poppenberg. Her mother often talked about visiting relatives in Stuttgart.
Father: Josef (Joseph) Zacher b 18 Oct. 1895 in Auberrotzing (Ausserzell). Came to this country in 1923.
His father : Josef Zacher. Occupation Inwohner? (translation not aviable) no other information know.
His Mother: Kreszenz Wolf. Occupation Housewife. No other information Known.
Mother: Karolina ILGMEIER (aka Caroline Eilmaier, Lina Zacher) b 21 June, 1904 in Poppenberg. Came to this country in 1924.
Her Parents not known.
Joseph and Karolina were married in Schoellnach 9 Oct. 1922. At that time he was living in Auberrotzing and she lived in Poppenberg.
This is all the information we have. Would like to track down other relatives and family history.
This was a larg family that settled in the KC Mo area Joseph had a brother here Adolf Zacher, and a sister Mary Lictenauer who married george Lictenauer.
Joseph and Karolina had 12 childern.
