Hi!

I have no earlier information on Sophie Zachow. I have later information on my great grandmother, Carolina (Lena) Zachow and her family, but nothing from Germany. You said your Sophie was from Prussia. That is not information I have had about the Zachows who came on the Germanic - but it fits with my family. My Great Grandfather who married Dora and later Carolina came from Prussia as well as the Fuhrmann family. My grandmother Hattie Sophie Mueller, daughter of Carolina and August Mueller married John August Fuhrmann (1913 in Brillion, Wisconsin). John's father was Wilhelm H Fuhrmann who was born in Franzen Pomerania, Germany. His wife, my great grandmother was also a Corolina (Lena) and born in Germany. Their oldest child "Willie" was also born in Germany. They immigrated to this country in 1886-1890. The record says 1886, but Willie was born in Germany around 1887.

I suggest you look for the Johann Zachow who came on the Germanic with you Sophie. He was 64. He might have been you Sophie's father. (My grandmother, Daughter of Carolina who came on the Germanic with her mother Dora Zachow was given the middle name Sophie which helps me believe the Zachows we are talking about are family.)

The Fuhrmanns settled in Kaukana and the Muellers settled in Brillion. Both towns are near your Greenville.

If you would like to have the information I have on the Fuhrmanns and the Muellers after 1890 I have pretty much all of it. I would be happy to share with you - but there are no Zachows there.
