Judy, that is wonderful news & I'll be keeping my fingers crossed! I'm glad I posted to this forum, that you found the msg & replied! Makes me feel like I at least had some part in the possible preservation of what was the final resting place of persons buried there - I'm sure their families never dreamed that those graves would ever be disturbed - Are there no state laws that provide protection for ceme-teries &/or recognized grave sites? Could there be some state protection that supercedes a County Commission's arbitrary decision on an existing ceme- tery, as especially concerns removal of graves? Maybe this would be a good question for the State Representatives of Rockdale Co before this term of the Legislature meets in Jan 2003 - what do you think? In checking our state of Georgia counties "many sided" splits, I found that Rockdale Co. was indeed made from both Henry & Newton Counties.... I do not have a copy of the book which concerns Henry Co as the "Mother" of some Cos. in GA - but if someone reading this does have a copy, perhaps they would be willing to look up ZACHARY/ZACHRY & post the names on this board for us..... Also the other name - What about the possibility of anyone posting this info on Rootsweb Mail Lists such as Henry Co., Newton Co., & Rockdale Co? If not, someone on those lists should post this info on each of those...... I posted the info both here & after hearing from you, I also posted it on the Rootsweb ZACHARY/ZACHRY Mail List. I've still had no word from Jerry Haire...I can't imagine what has happened to him..... Keep me updated, please.... Sarah Howell Studstill Notify Administrator about this message?
