A bit of a sticky wicket (LOL)...

Yesterday, I obtained the death certificates for both my father, Justin Thayer Zane, and grandfather, Arthur Chester Zane. These documents, as well as some others, are necessary in order to prove descent from my Native American ancestors; if I can show proof, I can enroll in the Wyandotte Tribe of Oklahoma. I could enroll in the Wyandot Nation of Kansas, but they are not yet federally recognized.

Well, here is my problem. According to all the research done by Diane Nichols and others, Arthur's parents were Elias Zane and Susannah Miller. However, Grandpa Arthur's death certificate list his parents as 'Chester Arthur Zane' and 'Sue Morrison'. His DC does have his Social Security number and date of birth, so maybe a visit to the Social Security Administration might reveal something.
