Linda, don't know if you're still pursuing this. I've just returned to it after several years.
I also assumed the John Morgan who married Marian Zane was the son of Daniel. However, the Ohio County marriage registry says this John was the "son of David." So far, I haven't found any Davids in the area at the time, and John and Marian appear to have left Ohio County before 1810. In 1810, the only John Morgan in Ohio County appears to be the son of Aaron (see "Index to the 1810 Virginia Census, Heads of Families Listed in the Third Census of the United States."
I have an ancestor named Lydia Zane Bell Spangler (b 1812 in Zanesville, OH), who is said to be the daughter of this Marian Zane. If that is the case, then this John Morgan ("son of David") may have died before 1812.
