Hi Diane, Yes, they are cousins of mine. The father of William B. Quein was John C. Quein who married Frances 'Fannie' (Branch) Quein in Augusta Ga. They were (I believe) forced to leave Augusta during the Civil War, and moved to Urbana, Oh. Frances died there in 1868, and John C. Quein remarried Marietta Quick. There were no children from the second marriage.

The sons of John Quein: John Edward 'Joe' Quein, moved to Ok. William Branch Quein to Co. then later Al., and Charles Quein ended up in Ca. The first two left descendants. Charles, who married Dora Fyke, disappears after the 1910 census in Los Angeles, Ca.

John C. Quein was the brother of my g.g. grandfather, Robert E. Quein 1820-1904. I am a Quein (direct maternal) descendant.

Jim
